World Blasting Innovators
O-PITBLAST, S.A., (“O-PITBLAST”), legal person number 513831045, with registered offices at Rua Professor Manuel Baganha, nºs 249 e 257, 4350 – 414 Porto, Portugal, is the promoter of the World Blasting Innovators (“WBI”) and, in this capacity, will be responsible for the processing of the personal data provided by the participants in the event.
O-PITBLAST pays particular attention to the protection of privacy and your personal data. Consequently, the processing of personal data will be carried out in strict compliance with the legislation in force, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation, having been implemented the technical and organizational measures that confer a high degree of protection to the personal information that is transmitted.
Please note the following principles by which processing of personal data in the context of your registration and participation in the WBI will be governed.
1.General Information:
For the purpose of participating in the WBI, it will be necessary to collect some of the following categories of data: (i) identification data; (ii) contact data; (iii) professional background data; (iv) tax and bank data (for payment purposes only); (v) social media data (v) image (photograph / video recording).
O-PITBLAST will not request any special categories of personal data (e.g. personal data relating to race or ethnic origin, political opinions, philosophical or religious beliefs, trade union membership, health data or data relating to life or sexual orientation), so you should avoid providing information of this kind.
2.Purposes of Data Processing:
O-PITBLAST will process your personal data for the purposes indicated below:
a) Management of WBI participation: we will process personal data for the purpose of managing your participation in WBI. The registration and participation in the WBI necessarily imply the processing of your personal data, under penalty of not being able to manage and organize the event or accept your registration and participation. The processing is based on the need for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party or for pre-contractual procedures and also on legitimate interests pursued by the controller or third parties.
b) Management newsletters and promotional communications: we will process your data for the purpose of sending you newsletters and commercial communications. This processing is based on your express and autonomous consent (the sending of newsletters and commercial communications necessarily implies consent to the processing of your data for this purpose).
c) Compliance with legal obligations: we will use your data to comply with legal obligations. This processing is based on the need to comply with the applicable law.
d) Participation in actions or claims: we will use your data to defend ourselves or bring legal actions or claims. This processing is based on our legitimate interest (assure our rights in the event of a dispute).
3. Data Processing:
The data you have provided will be accessed only by our employees responsible for managing the WBI and for sending commercial communications and, where appropriate, by our consultants or auditors who are dedicated to these activities, who are obliged to maintain confidentiality about your personal information. Personal data may also be transferred to public entities for tax or other purposes, under the terms imposed by the legislation in force.
4.Data Storage:
Except in the event that there is a legal obligation to retain your personal data, we will keep the data provided within the scope of the purposes listed above for a period of five years. At the end of this period, we will delete all your data or you will be contacted in advance to renew your consent for an equal period.
5.Data Security:
We take the necessary technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access or manipulation. Documents relating to your information will be stored in a secure location and access will be restricted. In the case of electronic processing, the data is encrypted with appropriate technology to protect and safeguard the integrity of the information and the data will be stored in an independent database. Obviously, security measures will be improved in the light of possible technological advances.
6.Revocation of Consent:
When you register with WBI, you are asked for your consent to proceed with certain forms of processing your personal data. You have the right to revoke any consents you have given at any time with effect for the future. In this case, we will immediately delete the respective data, unless there is a legal basis for the continuation of the processing. However, any processing of data prior to the revocation of your consent remains legal. You may revoke your consent by sending a written communication to our company at the address identified above.
7.Your Rights:
The applicable legislation entitles you, as the data subject, with the rights to access, rectify, erase or to ask for portability of your data, to limit or oppose to the processing, to revoke consent and to file a complaint with the supervisory authority (in this case, to Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados – www.cnpd.pt). Your rights must be exercised under the terms and for the purposes provided for in the applicable legislation, and for this purpose, you must send written communication to O-PITBLAST through the address identified above.
